Building on the most successful U.S. Junior Men’s National Team cycle in program history, highlighted by a historic bronze medal at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, USA Team Handball is pleased to announce a Junior Men’s National Team Training Camp to be held in Europe from March 17-21, 2026, during the IHF International Week. Final location details to follow in the coming weeks.

The camp will officially kick off the 2026-27 Junior Men’s National Team cycle, with the objective of raising the high-performance bar even further and continuing to develop athletes who will form the backbone of U.S. men’s handball for the decade to come.

Twenty one (21) athletes will be selected to attend the camp, and interested individuals must apply in order to be considered for selection (see application process below). Athletes born in 2006, 2007, and 2008 are eligible and must possess US citizenship. The U.S. Junior Men’s National  Team staff will review applications and select athletes based on USA Team Handball selection procedures similar to those used in previous competitions.

Athletes are responsible for covering their travel costs to and from the training camp location. A 175 Euro participation fee will be required from selected athletes, which will cover lodging, all meals, and all training sessions during the camp in a high-performance setting.

Application Process

Both current/former U.S. National Team athletes and new prospects must apply to be considered. Applications will be open until January 14, 2026, with selected athletes notified by January 21, 2026.

To complete the application:

  1. Register for the camp on Sport80 at: https://usateamhandball.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/241/home

  2. Submit match video, i.e. required only for athletes who have not participated in a U.S. national team competition or training camp within the past six (6) months

This camp is a critical first step in the next U21 cycle,” said Head Coach Danilo Rojevic. “After the progress and results achieved over the past two years, our focus now is to continue pushing standards, deepening our talent pool, and preparing the next generation of players to transition successfully into the senior national team environment.”
