Registration Open for 2026 USA Team Handball College Nationals in Raleigh
Three championship divisions set for North Carolina State as the nation’s top collegiate clubs prepare for another highly competitive national tournament.
Registration is now open for the 2026 USA Team Handball College Nationals, to be held at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. One of the signature events on the domestic handball calendar, College Nationals will again bring together the country’s leading collegiate programs to compete for national titles in Men’s First Division, Men’s Second Division, and Women’s Division.
The 2026 edition was originally awarded in summer 2025 to the University of Kentucky, but the event has been relocated to NC State due to on-campus renovations affecting the original host site. USA Team Handball remains grateful to Kentucky for its work and partnership in the original planning process, and looks forward to future opportunities to bring major collegiate competition to Lexington.
On the court, Raleigh is expected to deliver another compelling chapter in the growth of the college game.
In Men’s First Division, the spotlight once again falls on West Point Black, the long-standing standard bearer of collegiate team handball in the United States. Ever since disrupting Carolina Team Handball’s bid for a fourth straight title 20 years ago, West Point Black has remained the program others have measured themselves against. This year, a new wave of challengers will look to finally displace the division’s perennial powerhouse.
In Men’s Second Division, the University of Kentucky will look to build on its 2025 national championship, carrying momentum from last season into a new venue. With an increasing number of collegiate clubs continuing to strengthen their rosters and deepen their programs, the division is again expected to be one of the most competitive fields of the weekend.
The Women’s Division should be equally intense. Carolina Team Handball’s dramatic 17–16 victory over West Point Black in Harrisonburg last year stood among the defining matches of the 2025 tournament, and that result only adds further intrigue heading into Raleigh. With established contenders and rising clubs both targeting the top step of the podium, another fiercely contested women’s championship is expected.
College Nationals remains a cornerstone event for the continued development of handball on American campuses, offering student-athletes a true championship environment while helping drive visibility, continuity, and competitive ambition across the collegiate landscape.
