WNT Roster Announced for Pan American Games Second Chance Qualification Tournament

USA Team Handball's Women's National Team is set to compete at the Pan American Games Second Chance Qualification Tournament later this month, set to be held in the Dominican Republic.


Seventeen athletes have been selected to represent the United States at the tournament, with three designated as alternates.

The selected athletes are:

Goalkeepers - Sophie Fasold, Julia Malysz

Backs - Nicole Andersen, Kathy Darling, Elizabeth Hartnett, Daisy Licea, Zarinna Monroy, Katie Timmerman

Wings - Beatriz Cangas Perez, Julia Taylor, Maria Vallone

Line Players - Sarah Gascon, Karen Schultze, Taylee King Tellechea

Alternates - Ariane Clerc, Laisha Martinez, Michelle Nizza


After falling in their initial attempt for qualification in a home-and-home contest versus Canada in October 2022, the Women's National Team can qualify for the 2023 Pan American Games, which will be hosted by Santiago, Chile.


The other teams competing at the tournament are the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Uruguay, with only one qualification spot up for grabs.


Fourteen athletes on the Second Chance tournament roster competed at the recent 2023 NACHC Women's Championships, with Nicole Andersen, Michelle Nizza, and Karen Schultze joining the team for this tournament.
