During the Michael Lipov Memorial held on October 28-30, the NRC hosted a referee clinic and provided individual feedback for all referee pairs. This was the continuation of the work that NRC began post-pandemic with the resumption of competitions and with the increase in certified referees. These opportunities are very important because the high-quality instruction provided by the NRC is a key driver to the growth of handball in the United States. Being a referee demands a lot of concentration and mental strength and through referee observation and performance review, the NRC is able to bring our referees up to the highest level. The referees nominated for this competition were: AUGUSTO Rafael / POULET Kevin - PASAT Bogdan / SCHUBERT Peter - AHMADIYEH Vafa / SETSAA Stig - KOLAHDOUZAN Majid / SESPIROS Angelo - KACIBAN Christopher / FORSTHOEFEL Joshua.

During this competition, the referees Vafa Ahmadiyeh and Stig Setsaa were promoted to Level 3 while the pair Chris Kaciban and Joshua Forsthoefel were promoted to referee certification level 2.

The USA Team Handball - National Referee Committee is committed to promoting referee education opportunities throughout each season aiming to provide handball officials with the best knowledge for their roles.

If you would like to become a referee, there will be referee courses level 1 in November and December. Please send an email to referee@usateamhandball.org with any questions or concerns about the certification process.
