USA Team Handball is seeking an experienced and dedicated Volunteer Head Coach for our Senior Women's Beach National Team.
About the Opportunity #
As the head coach, you will lead a historically successful program within the North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation as well as internationally, including at the IHF Beach Handball World Championship. You will focus on both the immediate preparation and success of your team at upcoming tournaments, as well as the long-term development of the program and its athlete pipeline. This position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on the growth of USA Beach Handball.
Key Responsibilities #
- Managing and maintaining the National Team Athlete Pool, identifying and tracking prospective athletes for senior national team selection.
- Scheduling and coordinating training and development activities throughout the calendar year, including virtual team meetings on a monthly basis, and in-person training activities on a quarterly basis.
- Designing and implementing a structured training plan to optimize athlete and team performance.
- Overseeing the player selection process, including talent scouting and athlete evaluations.
- Designing the pipeline for new athlete recruitment and supporting USA Team Handball in creating a sustainable and competitive program.
- Ensuring compliance with all USA Team Handball, IHF, and NACHC policies.
- Collaborating with USA Team Handball staff, regional coaches, and support personnel to enhance the overall program.
- Organizing and leading coaching meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Coordinating logistics for training camps, competitions, and other official team events.
- Attending all required national and international meetings related to team activities.
- Providing feedback and assessments of player performance and development.
- Supporting overall athlete welfare and creating a high-performance team culture.
Candidate Qualifications #
- Strong technical and tactical knowledge of handball and IHF rules
- Extensive coaching experience at an elite level in beach or indoor handball, and/or strong knowledge of the sport of beach handball with experience competing and/or coaching beach handball at an elite level.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop athletes and build successful programs.
- Experience in managing high-performance teams in competitive environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in English
