USA Team Handball Announces General Membership Director Election Results

USA Team Handball today announced the official results of its 2026 General Membership Director election. Voting was conducted from August 24 through August 30, 2026, using a ranked-choice voting system in accordance with USA Team Handball’s Bylaws.

Josh Hetterick, the longtime President of Minnesota Team Handball Club, clinched the election in the 9th Round of Ranked-Order Voting tabulation. Hetterick will begin his four-year term of service to the USA Team Handball Board of Directors on Jan. 1, 2027.

The election was administered and overseen by USA Team Handball Chief Executive Officer Michael King, Board Vice Chair Julia Taylor, and NGC Chair David Evangelista, with the assistance of USATH legal counsel. Following the close of voting, several confirmed instances of fraudulent voting required additional review, delaying the final tabulation and publication of the election results.

Following that review, a third-party accounting firm independently tabulated the valid ballots and produced the round-by-round ranked-choice voting results. The independent tabulation further confirmed that the outcome of every round of voting, as well as the final result of the election, would have remained unchanged regardless of whether the invalid ballots were included or excluded.
Further review or action undertaken by USA Team Handball concerning the fraudulent activity is a separate matter from the confirmation and publication of the election results and will be addressed through the organization’s applicable processes.
