USA Team Handball Announces Inaugural U16 Women’s National Team Roster

U.S. Cadet Women set to compete in Mexico City for a place at the first IHF U16 Women’s World Championship

Colorado Springs, Colo. — USA Team Handball is proud to announce the inaugural roster for the U.S. U16 Women’s National Team, marking a major milestone in the continued growth of the women’s national team pathway.

The team will travel to Mexico City to compete from June 29–July 1 at the Mexican Olympic Training Center, where it will face Puerto Rico and Mexico for the opportunity to qualify for the first-ever IHF U16 Women’s World Championship this fall. The event is the first Cadet age division Continental Championship conducted by the North American and Caribbean Handball Confederation.

The creation of the U16 Women’s National Team reflects USA Team Handball’s broader commitment to building sustainable cadet, youth and junior national team structures as the sport continues to grow across the United States ahead of LA28 and beyond.
