Men’s Junior National Team Opens Selection Process for 2026 IHF Trophy

USA Team Handball has opened the athlete availability process for selection to the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team that will compete in the 2026 IHF Continental Trophy – North American & Caribbean Championship, scheduled for October 27–November 2, 2026, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

The competition begins a new cycle for the U.S. junior program following a historic 2024–25 campaign in which the United States won gold medals at both the North American & Caribbean Continental IHF Trophy and the IHF Intercontinental Trophy.

Those championships represented significant milestones for the USA Team Handball athlete-development pathway and demonstrated the program’s growing ability to compete successfully at the international level. The incoming team will seek to build upon that foundation while developing the next generation of athletes for future junior and senior national team competition.

Eligible athletes interested in being considered for nomination must make themselves available through Sport:80 and satisfy all age, citizenship and eligibility requirements established in the approved selection procedures.

Athlete selection will be conducted in accordance with the published USA Team Handball Selection Procedures for the 2026 IHF Trophy Junior and Youth Men’s teams, available here.

Submitting availability through Sport:80 does not guarantee selection. Final nominations and team selection will be made consistent with the approved selection procedures, applicable eligibility requirements and the competitive needs of the team.

The IHF Trophy pathway remains a critical development opportunity for emerging U.S. national team athletes. It provides meaningful international competition, experience within the national team environment and a pathway toward future world-level events and the U.S. Men’s Senior National Team.
