USOC Coach of the Year
This USOC award for coaches was initiated in 1996 with the philosophy that, to succeed in Olympic sport, athletes must strive for excellence almost from the moment they begin their careers. At every stage of their careers, coaches empower athletes to rise to the next competitive level of sport.
Nominations of the National Governing Bodies for the Olympic and Pan American Games sports, and the affiliated and disabled sports organizations are narrowed to the top five in each category by a vote of the nations Olympic media. A special USOC panel selects the award winners.
