- Defeated two-time Olympian and World champion Debbie McCormick rink in the finals of the Olympic trials 5-4 after defeating Patty Lank rink in semi-finals 7-6 in an extra end
- Started curling with her little sister, Cassie, after following her parents to the rink “Just after I was born, (my parents) placed me in their shiny, punch bowl-like Mixed Nationals trophy, which they won when my mom was five months pregnant with me."

Curling is a family event for Johnson. She teams up with her sister and her parents participated in the mixed curling competitions. “My parents have been to countless competitions in the nation and world; they’re what I would call experts,” Johnson said. “They got me hooked to the game, and now I am glad they got me into it. It’s such an addicting game.” Most recently, Johnson got her fiancé involved in curling and he has won his first state title.
