- 2005 World Curling Championships silver medalist at first appearance at Worlds
- 2006 Olympic team trial champion (undefeated)
- Won the Frances Brodie Award for sportsmanship at the 2005 World Championships
- Defeated two-time Olympian and World champion Debbie McCormick rink in the finals of the Olympic trials 5-4 after defeating Patty Lank rink in semi-finals 7-6 in an extra end
- Started curling at age 6 after tagging along with her parents to watch them curl “My sister found a videotape of the two of us trying curling for the first time, and we found ourselves laughing pretty hard because of the way we looked sliding."
- Listens to her iPod, which usually includes O.A.R., Smashing Pumpkins and Korn, to get psyched up before a bonspiel
- Eats pasta, preferably fettuccine alfredo, before bonspiels and eats granola bars during the fifth end breaks

- Would be a snowboarder if she wasn’t a curler because “I would like to see how much balance is required and see how long I could stay up without falling.”

- Favorite movies are happy Gilmore, Anchorman, Out of Sight … sporting events is men’s and women’s World Curling Championships … music is anything rock/alternative including Smashing Pumpkins, Audioslave, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson
Johnson became skip of her rink because “she was a brat,” said Jamie Johnson, her sister. Even though Jamie is the older sister, Cassie wanted to be the skip and it has been that way ever since.

On gaining confidence from winning silver at Worlds: “Worlds was nice because it gave us a gage of where we were among the women’s teams internationally. So now when we go to the Olympics we’ll know where we stand. We’ll be one of those teams to beat now.”
