Like her mother, Berg started out a tennis player, but there was always a volleyball in the house because that had been her father's game. Both Berg and her older sister Erin turned into top-notch volleyball players. They played together for one season at Punahou High School, with Lindsey a freshman hitter and Erin a senior setter. Erin went on to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina. (Source: NBCOlympics.com)
"To be able to tell someone that I've played with an Olympian is pretty cool," said University Minnesota senior Erin Martin, who played with Berg as a freshman. "I think it kind of tells the volleyball world that we are an elite team and that we are able to produce players like Lindsey."
