Burnham and Foerster so dominated the 2004 Olympic Trials that they sat out the final three races after mathematically securing the win. In the afterglow of the win, Burnham reflected that “Sometimes you just have those regattas where everything just seems to click, and this was one of those.”
During the 2004 Olympic Games, Burnham will be 47 years old and skipper Paul Foerster, 40. “People joke about our age and being older than their parents and stuff,” Burnham told www.sailingscuttlebutt.com. “It is fun to compete against them and even more so when we beat them.”
