Peggy Fleming
- 1968 Olympic gold medalist, sixth in the 1964 Olympics
- Three-time consecutive World Championship champion from 1966-68
- Five-time consecutive U.S. National champion from 1964-68
- Inducted into the U.S. & World Figure Skating Halls of Fame in 1976; and the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 1983
- Fleming was the first U.S. skater in any discipline to win a medal in the World Championships and Olympic Winter Games following the 1961 plane crash that killed the entire U.S. World Team in 1961 including Fleming's coach
- Skated at the 1986 unveiling of the restored Statue of Liberty
- Invited to the White House by four different administrations and, in 1980, became the first skater to ever perform there
- Won the 2003 Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence
- Honored in 1999 by Sports Illustrated in an elite group of seven "Athletes Who Changed The Game," along with Arnold Palmer, Billie Jean King and Jackie Robinson
- Named ABC Athlete of the Year in 1967, Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year in 1968
- Provides commentary for figure skating on ABC Sports since 1981
- Signed a $500,000 contract following Olympic win to perform in ice shows. Her televised special from the outdoor rink at Sun Valley, Idaho, won two Emmy Awards and her fourth special in 1973 was filmed entirely in the USSR
- Diagnosed with breast cancer in Jan. 1998 becoming an advocate in breast cancer awareness
- Married dermatologist Dr. Greg Jenkins in 1970. The couple has two sons, Andy and Todd, and two grandsons.
- Her mother designed and sewed the dresses Peggy wore in competition
Peggy has been with ABC Sports for over 20 years and continues to provide commentary for figure skating events. She also travels doing speaking engagements as well as promoting breast cancer awareness. She has served on several community project boards and was the national spokesperson for the National Osteoperosis Foundation. She is the mother of two boys and became a grandmother in 1999.
