Home Depot has supported the Olympic Movement since 1992, when it signed on as a sponsor of the 1994 and 1996 U.S. Olympic Teams and the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. The Home Depot is also the world’s leading employer of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls through the sponsorship of the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Olympic Job Opportunities Program (OJOP). Since 1992, Home Depot has employed more than 300 athlete-associates, offering them full-time pay and benefits for a flexible 20-hour work week that accommodates their training and competition schedules. In addition, Home Depot announced a 10-year sponsorship of the new Home Depot Center, a world-class amateur sports training complex in Carson, Calif. The facility opened in June 2003.
