Brennan, the 2006 U.S. national champion, scored 325.65 points for silver and Bryant tallied a 299.90 for bronze behind Italy’s Tania Cagnotto, a two-time World Championship bronze medalist who won the gold with 329.20 points.

The silver was the first career international medal for Brennan, the daughter of 1964 Olympic gold medalist swimmer Cathy Ferguson. It was also the first individual international medal for Bryant, who already had several synchronized medals to her name.

Brennan and Bryant's medals also marked the first individual medals for U.S. women this year. U.S. divers have won 18 medals in 2007 Grand Prix competition, but until Saturday, they'd all been in synchronized events or in individual men's competition – including a silver from Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif.) and a bronze from Chris Colwill (Brandon, Fla.) on 3-meter on the first day of the Italian Grand Prix.

Men’s 10-meter was also contested Saturday, and David Boudia (Noblesville, Ind.) led the U.S. with a fifth-place 458.55. Thomas Finchum (Indianapolis, Ind.) was ninth at 456.70. China’s Li Junbai scored 560.50 for the gold.

The Italian Grand Prix concludes Sunday, June 17 with all four synchronized diving events.
