“The State Farm USA Basketball Challenge to be played on July 22 will be a very intriguing game, as it is going to be a Blue-White game comprised of all the talented players from our Senior Team roster,” stated Jerry Colangelo, USA Senior National Team Managing Director.
“There are going to be a number of new players who weren’t available or weren’t with us last summer. Kevin Durant and Greg Oden, who most believe will be the top two picks in this year’s NBA Draft, will be participating. A number of veteran players who weren’t able to compete last summer - Kobe Bryant, Michael Redd, Chauncey Billups, and others - are going to make it a very, very competitive game.
“When you look at the amount of talent on the floor at any one time, I think fans will be in for a real treat.”
“The State Farm USA Basketball Challenge will give basketball fans a rare chance to see many of the best players in the world compete on two teams and against one-another in what we will be approaching as a serious and meaningful game,” said USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
The USA Basketball Men’s Senior National Team will conduct a mini-training camp July 20-21 in Las Vegas, culminating with the 2007 State Farm USA Basketball Challenge on Sunday, July 22.
