USA Softball Arrives in Oklahoma City on Easter

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- With a warm welcome from the Easter Bunny, the USA Softball Women’s National team arrived in Oklahoma City on Sunday in advance of its collegiate match-ups this week. Scheduled to play four games in the capital city on the KFC Bound 4 Beijing tour, the Red, White and Blue spent the day at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium participating in an Easter Egg hunt with teammates and their children followed by interviews and practice.
On Monday, the U.S. will battle the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at 6:30 p.m. before taking on No. 11 Oklahoma on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, it will be double header action with No. 18 DePaul at 5 p.m. and Virginia Tech at 6:30 p.m.

Coming in at 14-0 on the tour, Team USA has outscored opponents 142-3 thus far on the KFC Bound 4 Beijing Tour and is led by Laura Berg (Santa Fe Spring, Calif.) who is hitting .579. Outfielder Jessica Mendoza (Camarillo, Calif.) is leading in RBI with 21 hitting .531 with four home runs. Crystl Bustos (Canyon Country, Calif.) has continued to bring her power with a team leading five home runs batting .367 with 19 RBI.
From the circle, the U.S. pitching squad has held opponents to a .059 batting average and south paw Cat Osterman (Houston, Texas) has totaled 55 strikeouts in 22.0 innings pitched.
