Dennis Bowsher Qualifies for Saturdays Final of Modern Pentathlon World Cup #3 in Millfield, Great Britain; Mickey Kelly Leads the Women Tomorrow

 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In semifinal action today in the men’s division of the third World Cup event of the 2007 Modern Pentathlon World Cup season in Millfield, Great Britain, American Dennis Bowsher (Dallas, Texas/Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) led Team USA and qualified for Saturday’s final.
Today’s semifinal saw 85 athletes from 25 countries competing in three groups in which the top 12 finishers in each group advanced to Saturday’s final. Also representing the U.S. were Eli Bremer (Monument, Colo./Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Air Force), Niul Manske (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) and Sam Sacksen (Somerset, Pa./Colorado Springs, Colo.).
Bowsher finished 12th in Group A with 4,320 total modern pentathlon points. Bremer posted a 17th place finish in Group B with 4,132 total modern pentathlon points. Manske placed 23rd in Group C with 3,856 points, while Sacksen placed 24th in Group C with 3,976 total modern pentathlon points.

Three U.S. women will compete tomorrow, Friday, April 13 in women’s semifinal in Millfield. Mickey Kelly (New York, N.Y./Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army), the seventh ranked female pentathlete in the world, will lead her teammates Emily Shertzer (Hershey, Penn./Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark./Colorado Springs, Colo.) into tomorrow’s competition.
The event will be the first World Cup competition for the 15 year-old Isaksen. Sheila Taormina (Livonia, Mich./Colorado Springs, Colo.), the current number one ranked female modern pentathlete in the world, elected not to attend World Cup #3 prior to the start of the season due to her already extensive travel schedule.
