Western Region Wins Team Title At Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association's Western Region won the 2007 Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships, sponsored by Malibu Boats, May 19-20, at Borderline Sports Lake in Blaine, Wash. The 13th annual event was hosted by Western Washington University and included the top-10 men and top-10 women from each of the NCWSA's four regions vying for individual titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall. In addition, the inaugural Bellevue Cadillac Collegiate Night Jump Challenge also took place.
The Western Region totaled 11,010 points and earned a convincing win over the defending champion Midwest Region, which tallied 7.070 points. The Eastern Region finished with 3,095 points and the South Central Region placed fourth with 3,065 points.
In the individual events, Cale Burdick (Danville, Ind.) of the Midwest Region scored 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off to win Men's slalom; Hanna Edeback (Cary, N.C.) of the Eastern Region scored 2 buoys at 35 off to win Women's slalom; Steven Critchley (Lafayette, La.) of the South Central Region tallied 4,910 points to win Men's tricks, and soared 177 feet to win Men's jumping; Danielle Sligar (Tempe, Ariz.) of the Western Region scored 1,790 points to win Women's tricks; and Kerri Lee (Zachary, La.) of the South Central Region leaped 121 feet to win Women's jumping. Kole Magnowski (Tempe, Ariz.) of the Western Region jumped 201 feet to win the inaugural Bellevue Cadillac Collegiate Night Jump Challenge.
