"We couldn't be happier to have the city of Syracuse, Onondaga County Parks and the Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau host the 2007 USA Wakeboard Nationals, USA Water Ski's premier wakeboarding event," said Andy Jugan, executive director of USA Water Ski. "With the continued growth of wakeboarding across the country, this year's event is sure to live up to the hype."

Sanctioned by USA Wakeboard, the event will be open to men and women of all ages and all levels of riding. Athletes will compete for titles in both wakeboarding and wakeskating at the eighth annual event. The USA Wakeboard Nationals is part of USA Water Ski's National Championships Series of Events.

In addition to the competition, Onondaga County Parks and the Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau will kick off the event with a welcome party at a nearby historical/tourist venue, host a VIP reception and hold a closing party to wrap up the festivities.

USA Wakeboard is one of nine sport disciplines of USA Water Ski. USA Water Ski was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is affiliated with the International Water Ski Federation (world governing body) and is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and Pan-American Sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United States. With more than 30,000 members, USA Water Ski is the largest water ski federation in the world.
