Former Olympian Jeremy Laster Named To USA Water Polo Board Of Directors As Athlete Representative

Jeremy Laster, a former USA Water Polo Olympian and longtime member of the Men’s Senior National Team was named to the USA Water Polo Board of Directors as Athlete Representative. Laster who currently works as a Director of Asset Management for Rancho Mission Viejo in Orange County, California represented Team USA at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and played on the national team from 1992 until his retirement in 1998.
“We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to the board. He brings a unique blend of athletic excellence and solid business experience which will enhance our overall ability to achieve our mission to build our sport throughout the United States,” said Michael Graff, Chairman of the USA Water Polo Board of Directors.
In his role on the Board of Directors Laster will serve as the voice of the athletes competing on the men’s and women’s senior national teams. “I look forward to serving with the current board members and I hope to add value to the board by bringing to the table a unique perspective as a former player and Olympian as we continue to navigate through this critical time for our sport.” Laster said. He added, “There are so many opportunities for USA Water Polo, so many exciting programs currently being implemented around the country and so many great people associated with both the sport and with the organization. Water polo is strong and growing in the United States, the future for our sport is bright, and I am truly excited to be a part of it.”
A standout at San Clemente High School, Laster would go on to star at Stanford University winning two NCAA Championships while earning All-American honors on three occasions. Currently Laster resides in Newport Beach, California with his wife and four children.
