USA Taekwondo's Pan Am Games Trials

The eight-member Taekwondo team that will compete for the United States at the 2007 Pan American Games will be selected this weekend during the Pan Am Games Team Trials in Colorado Springs. The trials will be held Jan. 6-7 in Sports Center 1 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Competition in the double-elimination format will begin at 9:00 a.m. both days. The event is free and open to the public.
The 15th Pan American Games will be held July 12-19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will feature the combined Olympic weight divisions for Taekwondo.
Twelve U.S. Senior National Team members and eight Junior National Team members are among the competitors for this weekend’s event, including 2004 Olympic silver medalist Nia Abdallah of Houston, Texas.
